User-Focused Creative Web Development

An image showing multiple websites screenshots, as an example of different creative front-end and UX Design works.

Working in an agency environment exposed me to a wide range of diverse projects, such as marketing sites, e-commerce platforms, and web applications, giving me the opportunity to work with different technology stacks and unique project requirements.

In smaller teams, I collaborated closely with designers, project managers, and clients, often taking broader responsibilities than front-end, spanning technical architecture, CMS integration, and advising on technical feasibility.

Tap to progress

The main challenge of my job was balancing the original design vision with the practical needs of the end users, or enhancing the design to truly leverage the web medium, using the web’s grains, as Frank Chimero puts it.

As the name suggests, front-end sits right at the edge with the user’s world. This unique position offers unparalleled insight into real usability, making it easier to identify unforeseen user interactions, missing design details, or even where the web platform itself falls short. This highlights the crucial need for a user-centered approach.
